FINAL REVIEW

Our final will consist of 50 multiple choice questions that are a retake of concepts in the 5 common assessments from this year.  The best way to prepare for the assessment is to revisit all common assessment previous posts, they all have the label CA.

Here is a LINK to all those POSTS.

Tuesday 12/4

Today we reviewed common assessments 3 and 4 to help us get ready for the final next week!

                  Tuesday 11/13

Today we learned how to divide with rational expressions.  To divide by a fraction we listen to the dyslexic colonel who would say, KCF. Keep the first fraction the same, Change the division to multiplication, and Flip the second rational number (reciprocal).  We then carry the problem out as a multiplication problem.

Today we learned to multiply rational expressions. The steps are the same as in simplifying a rational expression. That means factor everything and then cancel out common factors.

Today we worked on the #27 Common Assessment #2 Preview worksheet for Friday's common assessment.  We will continue to work on this review sheet in class tomorrow.

                  Answer Key

The following is a 3 part video that covers all the questions from the common assessment with different numbers (Side A of the worksheet).  The video has a mistake which has been corrected on the answer key.  Problem #2 on the A side should have a -6 in the box and constants cancel so that the answer is 5x^2 + 8x. If you have any questions please comment on this post.

                  Monday 9/17

Today we learned how to factor trinomials of the form ax^2 + bx + c.  For notes we worked through two examples together and then we worked out the first three problems of the homework.  Hint (that was shared in class): this is a complicated process, sum up the steps you use to solve each problem and use it as a checklist.  My checklist would look like this:
                  1.) Magic x
                  2.) Put b on bottom
3.) Multiply a and c to get top number
4.) Think of two numbers that multiply to be the top number and add to be the bottom
5.) Draw a line through X to transform into SUPER X
6.) Place ax on top of both sides
7.) Reduce each side as if it was a fraction
8.) Rewrite reduced fractions as factors
