Monday 9/17

Today we learned how to factor trinomials of the form ax^2 + bx + c.  For notes we worked through two examples together and then we worked out the first three problems of the homework.  Hint (that was shared in class): this is a complicated process, sum up the steps you use to solve each problem and use it as a checklist.  My checklist would look like this:
1.) Magic x
2.) Put b on bottom
3.) Multiply a and c to get top number
4.) Think of two numbers that multiply to be the top number and add to be the bottom
5.) Draw a line through X to transform into SUPER X
6.) Place ax on top of both sides
7.) Reduce each side as if it was a fraction
8.) Rewrite reduced fractions as factors

Notes #14

HW #25: P. 401 #1-27 odd

Be sure to check your answers in the back of the book!!!
